I remember friends' babies when eating, well try eating actually, and throw the food bowl to the opposite wall, because they got upset or just an accident. Anyway, feeding the baby is a big mess and needs a lot of patient. I believe things run smoother with the Tommee Tippee mat, its a great tool. The mat sticks to the eating surface and the eating bowl fits directly in it. However hard you try, or the baby, the bowl doses not move. And I mean it! You have to pull the button to release the bowl. So a steady bowl makes the feeding easier! You worry only for the spoon and the food consumption. It increases the baby's self esteem when it eats on its own.

Ok, so it isn't actually a magic mat, but it comes pretty darn close. It keeps the dish or plate in place and makes mealtimes much less of a problem. Of course, the older the child becomes the more they will suss it out, but it is really very good. I found that it does only work with Tommee Tippee dishes and plates. It is easy to clean, does not seem to lose any of its grip and is probably worth the money!

The Tommee Tippee Magic Mat is an excellent product for when your baby wants to start feeding themself.It just sits on the highchair tray and will not move about unless you peel it off. The bowl or plate sticks to the suction cup ontop and is very secure, with a very simple release tab.This is only ideal for a short term solution, ie from when baby is about 4/5 months up until the age of about 7 months, after this age your child will be able to suss out how to remove the mat from the designated area and will have cottoned on to how the release tab works from watching mummy and daddy do it.A brilliant cheap product to get you started!
