Excellent item. A must have for all parents., 13 Dec. 2011

After reading many reviews (not just here on Amazon) saying that these reins would not fit over a padded coat/jacket, I was a little dubious as to whether I should get these or not. I decided to go ahead and order these reins.

These were bought after looking at many different types of reins (rangeing in price from as little as £5 to more than £20).

All I can say is that I'm glad I did. I didn't want to pay too much for reins as I know I will only be using these every now and then.

There is a little pocket on the front, which is a really nice added touch.

At first my 18 month old toddler was excited to see them, as he knew that they were for him. So I tried them on him (without a coat) and he put them on fairly easily... that was until I fastened all the clips, at which point he became quickly destressed by them and wanted me to take them off. I quickly took them off and seriously thought about returning them.

The following day we...

I think these rains are great - not sure why no one else does?!, 15 Aug. 2009

I didn't buy these from Amazon, but I have been using them on my daughter since she was one and still use them on her now that she's 2. She is by no means a small child - tall for her age, no porker but sturdy enough.

I have found these rains to be durable, secure, the handle is an excellent feature that I still use when necessary, and it seems to cause her no harm when I do lift her up a step by it etc.

She has worn it over coats without a problem in the dead of winter. We did have one issue when she was dressed for snow, in multiple jumpers and coats, and so we just put the rains on underneath several of her layers and brought the long reins out the back of her clothing to keep her from slipping over. I found that to be a good solution and it didn't seem to bother my daughter either.

It's not just me either - my parents look after her several afternoons a week and they have found these reins essential. My husband uses them, my inlaws use them - not...

Best Reins By Far!, 29 Mar. 2010

I don't know why there are so many bad reviews?? This product is fantastic! We had a pair prior to the Tommee Tippee that we were happy with. We bought them in the states at a Walmart for 5 dollars and they did what they needed to do. Then I came across the Tommee Tippee reins in a TK Maxx ( I didn't purchase them on Amazon#, and thought they looked well made so I bought them to try out. My husband and I now use the Tommee Tippee reins almost everyday now. They are so sturdy and well made that my husband can lift our 21 month old by the back handle and twist her around in the air with no problem # and believe me, he does this alot!) Also the reins are not too long that it keeps your child close by you. Another point that another reviewer made was during the winter season, its very cold where we live so my child wears layers of clothing including their heavy winter coat. We did not have a problem putting the reins over the clothing. My child is of average size, at 21 months weighs...
