I bought this machine in 2014. I have also left this review on the advert for the slightly older model (just in case you read that already) I can tell you that I have white skin and dark brown hair. I had professional laser treatment about 15 years ago and it started to grow back (a lot finer) 4 years ago. I did look at all the various products available for this home job before selecting the homedics model. I purchased from the European distributor on line. I have also comtacted them previously and I found the service to be friendly and efficient. Now, the data I have is thet the unit ought to be used once a week for 6 weeks for best results. I did that. My hair grew back and there was no change. After 6 months more of Zapping I can see a bit of a positive difference. Although after this length of time I was not doing it once a week. Sometimes twice a week and sometimes not at all. It does temporarily arrest the hair growth so it looks promising but then nope there it is...
