Comfy chair, not great quality, 2 Jan. 2014

This chair is really comfy and for the price is probably fairly good value for money. We bought it for our baby girl's nursery and it's lovely for sitting and nursing / rocking in. The gliding mechanism is well designed and makes rocking the chair effortless.

The first chair we were sent had a crack in one of the bits of wood where it had been drilled and pre-assembled which I was worried would get worse over time. Contact Amazon whose customer service was great and arranged for collection of the original and delivery of a replacement. The second chair had no damage but the screw holes for the recliner mechanism are misaligned which makes it quite stiff to lock the arms back into place when you've adjusted the back. However this isn't really a big issue for us as once it's in a comfy position we don't tend to re-adjust it often.

The only other drawback is that the covers are not washable. I can confirm that they are marked by baby sick so we are now covering it...

Not just for the nursery!, 21 Feb. 2014

When I lived in North America, I had one of these "horizontal rockers" which were regarded as living room furniture. I was delighted when I found this one to replace the one I had to leave behind when I moved back to the UK. Being an OAP I was a little worried about the self-assembly, but I needn't have been as it is only the back and arms that need to be bolted on - the rocker mechanism already assembled. I assembled it on my own in half an hour. The great advantage of these over conventional rocking chairs is that the base does not move on the floor so nothing gets caught under the rockers (I have cats, and paws and tails used to get under the rockers on my previous chair) and it does not "walk" so can be safely positioned near glass doors. It has become my favourite chair, and the side pockets are very useful for magazines, books and other bits and pieces I may need while doing craft work or sewing. The cushion covering is a lovely suede-type fabric. Overall,...

Too narrow and thinly padded, 14 Mar. 2015

My husband bought this chair for my birthday. He assembled the chair whilst I was in hospital but I understand it was easy enough to put together. The first thing I noticed was that it glides beautifully and at first seems comfy to sit in. However, when it came to feeding my newborn who likes to be fed in a cradle position the chair was too narrow and she already reached arm to arm which meant having to sit right on the edge of the chair so she doesn't knock her head on one of the wooden arms. Not a comfortable position to be in for a length of time! I also found that when sitting in the chair for a long period rocking our baby to sleep the padding is a little lacking and I end up with a numb/sore bum! The material used also seems to mark easily.

So overall although it's a lovely chair to sit in for short periods of time and I liked the idea of it I haven't found it really suitable for the purpose for which it was bought and won't be recommending it to any of my pregnant...
