The Honeycomb sponge (Hyppospongia communis) is very soft, absorbent and durable. It is the most luxurious and well known of all the natural sea sponges. From the side or bottom these sponges look like Swiss cheese or a honeycomb and the surface of the sponge contains thousands of soft fibrous fingers which excel at washing and cleaning.
