Lots of issues, can't recommend, 19 Oct. 2015

We got this for our 10 year old daughter, with the plan to build it together. Although the instructions appear to be clear, there are several instances where the very clear picture shows one piece, and then on the next picture you can see that a completely different piece had been used. This happened 4 or 5 times throughout the build and was very frustrating. We also checked the number of pieces very carefully against what it said we'd need and this was correct, so were surprised to come up short on a certain piece. Sure enough when we checked what the instructions wanted us to use against how many they said they gave us, the instructions told us to use 2 more than they'd actually specified.

There are updated instructions on the web site - we used this to double check when we had the first instance of pictures not matching with instructions, but the online instructions are so different that they bear no resemblance whatsoever to the written ones. Perhaps if you use the...

A great family project and looks great in motion, a few flaws., 19 May 2015

My daughter (9) and I (43.5) spent about four hours building this. The build process is ok, the instructions are all pictograms like Lego instructions and you have to be careful which pieces you use by counting holes etc. If you do this correctly, you quickly arrive at have two legs that work, giving a good idea how the rest goes together and a good sense of progress. The pieces are well made and fit together well. We had no parts missing, indeed we have many spare connectors for the times it gets driven down the stairs.

Once the two leg halves are complete the brain and sensors are built and wedged in between the legs. A bit counterintuitive here as it does mean that to change the batteries you have to dismantle the beast. A bit more thought would have been good from the designers here.

We didn't have a problem with the beast not moving, it moves just fine. We did take care not to fasten to rotating joints too tight though, making sure that throughout the build...

The robotic toy that goes no where!, 4 Jan. 2015
Terrible product. Instructions miss out random pieces, in some places the instructions use the wrong pieces. Motors are underpowered. Once built the machine has to be taken apart to change the battery. No way an 8yr old can build this. The preprogrammed brain, is hidden away inside the machine, so parts have to be taken off to change settings. As a robotic toy, i expect it to walk forwards, backwards, and turn once built. Not have to disassemble it, change settings, reassemble it. Every time i want to turn a corner or walk a straight line. Not to mention the programmmable switches are so small its difficult to adjust one without catching an adjacent switch.Terrible, terrible, terrible.
