Don't believe the bad reviews.. new batteries are all that's required!, 3 Sept. 2014

This VTech toy is amazing. The little boy loves it, the dog loves it and I love it! haha. However it does seem to go faulty within a small amount of time. As an electronics tech I had the thing in pieces and was trying to discover the problem with it. Well in fact it is very simple.. this device is a battery monster. Once the batteries run down it still appears to work.. music plays, bubbles half blow but they just pop by the mouth. Best thing to do is buy some good quality AA rechargeable or alkaline batteries (not zinc) and the thing will work like a dream. It also seems to go through bubble fluid which I've found the best place to get from is the pound shop. They sell the big pots of it for older kids, but its absolutely fine to use in here. Don't bother with washing up liquid as it doesn't work any more! There is a bit of a trick to filling it too which I've found is to tilt it back by about 30 deg and pour the fluid straight in the mouth until you can just see it by the centre of...

No bubbles bathtime whale! What a disappointing Christmas present for my 13month old, 26 Jan. 2015

I am so disappointed by this product. It looks great, good selection of tunes and buttons that are easy for my little boy to work BUT it stopped working after 3 weeks and 2 lots of batteries! I bought this as a Christmas present for my son who is now looking very sadly at it as the bubble mechanism that has stopped rotating or blowing out bubbles (while blowing enthusiastically himself like he's trying really hard to make bubbles come out of the machine!)Very unhappy and returning this for a refund, wish I'd read the reviews first that show how many others have had the same problems with this
