Five stars - but only for ages 2 or 3, 23 July 2015

This is a lovely idea - after all, why are advent calendars just for Christmas? This has 10 doors to open, plus an inbuilt "slide" that has two extra doors. It also had an activity sheet to use in conjunction with the toys - each toy is colourful and interesting - however I don't believe kids over 3 would find it overly entertaining - our son is 2 and loves it however I doubt he'd have much interest if he was much older. Considering from that age perspective, it's very good, especially if they already have other Wow toys.It's also helping us teach him counting - so works in several levels.You'd only want to get this once though - I wonder if Wow will release an annual version to keep it current as Lego do with their Christmas ones.All in all its really good set, however in my view only suitable for younger children, up to a maximum of 3.

Great calendar for 1-5 birthdays., 2 July 2015

This is a good birthday countdown calendar toy. It's a decent size, not ultra thin like Christmas calendars, more like a cereal box. The whole thing comes with a sellophane cover and a large front flap with a central, vertical slit opens out to give you a play house complete with tree slide for the characters.It has some thoughtful touches like you can personalise the inside of the treehouse door with your child's name and there's an activity sheet with simple activities like colouring, mazes and dot to dot.The figures while not teeny tine are a bit smaller than I hoped. I was imagining chunky happy land dimension figures but these are a third the size and I'm not going to leave them out for my 1/2 year old to play with.

fabulous idea, 27 Jun. 2015

This is a fabulous idea just like an advent calendar for birthdays. My great niece is nearly 2 and she loved it but was too young to understand the concept so we opened all the boxes on the same night! Even doing that it was very exciting for her.The wee toys themselves are great and well made. And they all make up a little birthday party. The box also included activities for each day. Again these were great but maybe a bit advanced for the ages specified ie. 1-5.This is a fantastic gift for a child leading up to their birthday and I highly recommend this.
