Great for giving nervous cats a 'tidy up'., 12 Aug. 2012
I'll start with a quick background on my reasons for buying this product. I have a 14-year-old Maine Coon who is prone to mats in his coat, but got incredibly stressed at the vets last time they tried to clip him. He has underlying health issues so I wasn't too happy about him being sedated to clip him in future so I looked around for a small, quiet trimmer that would could use in a relaxed atmosphere at home.He stood perfectly happily (granted there was a some mild bribery courtesy with his favourite treat!) while my mum quietly shaved off a few mats without stress or fuss. We let him decide when he'd had enough and wander off. The result is over the last few days we've gradually removed the mats and he's a much more comfy cat!The product itself is as I've said very quiet (though not silent), small and comes with various tools so your cat can be trimmed but not badly ;). I would definitely recommend this product to anyone else with a long haired cat.

I think the Wahl pocket pro trimmer is a superb little clipper.It's very small and compact, ideal for travelling when you want to keep the size and weight down. A single AA battery will see you through several hair cuts.With the small guard comb fitted it cuts very closely and very well, on my hair at least. The pocket pro will actually cut closer than my full size Wahl Chrome pro clippers with a number 1 guard comb.Build quality is ok too. The top has a rubbery feel to it which helps with keeping a good hold. I wouldn't say the pocket pro feels substantial or robust in the hand but for less than a tenner and the quality of the cut, I can live with a bit of plastic
