Would Not Pair with WiFi, 14 Nov. 2015

I could not pair this devise with my WiFi router.

Having spent the last 4 hours trying to get this camera to pair I have finally given up and I am returning it.

I don’t know whether the camera is faulty or just not compatible with my WiFi router.

Information that may be helpful to prospective buyers:-

I have a BT Home Hub5 and an Android Galaxy S5 running Lollipop 5.0.2

I downloaded the MiCam app and followed the install instructions.

Setup an account.

Setup – My Cameras – add device.

Connect power to camera – green light flashing

Connected to my Home Hub WiFi router – with password – no problem.

Connection successful.

Turn up volume on phone to send audio tone to camera.

Press the red start button to link/pair camera with WiFi

Sound wave sent – wait 120 seconds.

Message: “Can not pair the camera”

I tried this several times.

Annoying voice, 17 Oct. 2015

Set up is straight forward and picture quality is great but an annoying feature for me is that every time I log in to start recording a voice comes out of the camera announcing someone is watching. Not great if using it for baby minding or if you see a burglar!

Disappointed and not trustworthy., 19 Nov. 2015

While the camera and the packaging themselves looks slick for the price you pay, the experience is disappointing. It took multiple attempts to pair the camera with my phone. There are no error messages to impose why initial paring attempts may have not worked. In addition the camera itself has an annoying voice that sounds when you start viewing that you can not turn off or even lower disqualifying it as a babycam in my opinion. Attempts to pair with multiple devices so that my wife and I can have the app on both our phones failed.I am also not convinced on security, when installing the app you need to register an account which contains your email, upon which you also then have to share your wifi SSID network name and share your password to setup the cam connection which can be stored by the App provider.That mistrust is underlined by spelling mistakes in the app.
