easyblackout blackout blind kit - Size 3 - CREAM is available in Curtains

To achieve complete blackout, there must be no gaps where light could enter. Using self-adhesive hook velcro all the way around the window frame, this velcro-compatible material attaches to the window and leaves no gaps. Easy to use - simply apply whenever required. Folds up for storage. Can be cut to size if required, and does not fray so no hemming required! When finally removed from the upvc window frame, the Velcro may leave some adhesive residue - this can be removed using bathroom silicone sealant remover.

Great until you have to remove the velcro from the window frame, 15 April 2013
This is just a word of caution really as none of the other reviews mention what happens when you try to remove the velcro tape from around your window frames. We used these for around 3 years on two bedroom windows and they were great right up to the point where the tape had to be removed from the window frames (normal UPVC window frames).Even if you remove the tape very carefully, there is a huge amount of residue left - sticky stuff remover and various other residue removing cleaners (including bathroom silicone sealant remover) do not work effectively. We allowed two full days to remove the tape and after 16 hours of continuous spraying, scraping and picking there was still lots of residue left and once you start scraping you also end up with little lumps of it all around the frame. My advice would be to give yourself a lot more time to remove it or just leave the tape up if you can.

Pretty dark, 21 Dec. 2013
Put this up in baby's room to keep it dark and this has really done the trick. It is a very simple but effective means to stopping light filtering in from the sides like so many other blackout solutions. On an extremely bright day, you can see a faint glow from the blind, but it still keeps the room dark and if you have curtains over the blind, like we have in baby's room, no light will be visible.I would not recommend to use on wood frames as the removal of the velcro strips requires some harsh chemicals which will likely remove the varnish or finish off.Last point - it is not so simple as taking it on and off on a daily basis, so you will want to make sure you want to keep the room dark for awhile. I have managed to partially remove the bottom and reattach it further up without taking the whole blind off to let some natural light into the room or have a view outside when wanted.

At last a dark bedroom!, 10 April 2012
Works exactly as described providing an excellent blackout solution. Helps to have quite wide plastic window frames to ensure that material finishes right off the window which ensures maximum performance. A little clumsy to take off and on as I have a Size 3 window, so I cut my blind in half and now leave the top half permanently in place and just remove the lower half - make sure you have enough material to overlap the join in the middle though! Don't know why I didn't invest in this a couple of years ago!
