What makes the thread count?
The thread count is the number of threads in a square inch of fabric. This is achieved by measuring the number of threads in the Warp (length) and the weft (width).The most popular cottons will be around 150, while good quality sheets will start at 180. Anything 200 and above brings you into the luxury range.

This is a very nice, and extremely good value (at the current price), duvet quilt cover and pillow case set, which is available in 12 different colours, and in single, double and king sizes.
My partner chose the warm fuchsia pink colour version in king size, which includes a duvet quilt cover measuring approximately 87 inches (220 cm) wide, by about 90 inches (230 cm) tall, and two pillow cases, which measure approximately 29.5 inches (75 cm) wide, by roughly 19.5 inches (50 cm) tall. The opening of the duvet quilt cover is fastened shut with a row of plastic buttons which simply clip together and pull apart.
The duvet and pillow cases are made from a combination of 50% Egyptian cotton and 50% polyester, which is luxuriously soft and gentle to touch, and helps you to stay cool when the weather's hot, and warm when the weather's cold, dependent to some extent, of course, upon the type of duvet which you use...

I have found the quality of this duvet cover and pillow cases set to be exceptionally good for the price.
When the set arrived, I spent some time examining the seams and stitching. I could see that this set was very well machined, so I am sure that the durability and longevity will make this set very good value.
The material is a poly cotton mix, being 50% Egyptian cotton, and 50% polyester. This mix gives a good combination of performance, comfort, and easy care. The set can be easily machine washed at 40 degrees, and ironed on a medium heat setting.
The double duvet is approx 200cm wide by 200cm tall, and the pillow cases are roughly 75cm wide by 25cm tall.
The weave of the material has a high 200 thread count per square inch. The higher the thread count, the more comfortable it feels against your skin The pillow cases provides you or your guests with a clean, crisp space to rest your head. The duvet cover resists creasing rather well...

These Duvet sets come in different colours and sizes. So, I should say at the outset that I am reviewing the (Grey) King-Size Set.
The material is a mixture of polyester and cotton, well stitched all round, and with a thread count of 400.
Anything 200+ is usually considered to be high quality and I certainly find this set to be good.
Until relatively recently, I preferred the standard cotton feel, but I have now become used to the 'sateen' finish. It's a bit slippier when fighting your partner for maximum coverage, but feels nicely cool to the skin at the outset and quickly quite warm.
The duvet cover fastenings are plastic press studs, which I find easier than buttons, but they need a bit more care in use. If you abuse them, or iron them (getting them hot), they can distort a bit and become hard to fix again. I actually use a press for my bedding, but I am careful to ensure that the plastic fastenings do not get hot.
