Great product but a bit pricy, 23 Sept. 2014

I'm a big fan of Batiste dry shampoo which retails at about £1.50 for a 150 ml can. Swell Ultimate Volume Dry Shampoo is currently on sale on Amazon for £20 for a small can (£8 per 100 ml) - it better be good!

The only downside of Batiste for me is that I usually have to blast your hair with a hairdryer to get rid of the white powdery residue; not very convenient if I'm travelling but still better than having to wash my hair properly if I haven't got time or don't want to over-process it. I wash my hair every day and use dry shampoo on the in-between day, mainly to get rid of oil on my fringe.

I used Swell for the first time this morning. The first thing to note is that it's not an aerosol; it has a pump dispenser which means that the blast is much less strong and direct - a lesson I learned the hard way when a lot of the powder landed on my dressing table and the top I was wearing. I'm sure if I aim more carefully next time I'll get a better result. The powder...

Wow. I loved it. I must admit, I wasn't expecting to find it quite so brilliant (after all its just dry shampoo and it's expensive at that) but I really do love it.

I have a few health problems and sometimes struggle to wash my hair every other day and as a woman this can really bother me. (one arm is permanently damaged) Friends and family have been telling me to find a good dry shampoo for ages and I've tried ones available in the supermarket but as I have long thick curly hair they have all been just too powdery or left too much of a notable residue on my hair. A few have even irritated my scalp.

That's why I'm genuinely impressed that the Swell Ultimate Volume Dry Shampoo was a really positive experience. you only need a very little bit which can be a touch disconcerting as it comes in a small bottle that holds over 60 applications! . My daughter is a long time user of Batiste shampoo, she swims a lot and often doesn't have time to wash her hair.We decided to give this a go and it has proven to be as good as, if not better than batiste. It seems to rub in well with no residue or weird marks left behind so big thumbs up for that. It also leaves a nice smell which isn't overpowering or sickly.The ultimate volume bit seems a bit exaggerated, my daughter has really thick hair and I was worried that this would turn it into a birds nest but it really seems to make little difference to the volume of her hair. So, I am not unhappy with this fact but thought it was worth pointing out for those buying this on the expectation that it will turn your limp hair into a floaty creation.Recommended
